Ubuntu update
It looks like booting the Ubuntu PPC CD with the options: "live video=ofonly nosplash" works for the install on the iBook. Make sure if you're trying this you put the nosplash at the end, as it doesn't work for me if it is located before the video=ofonly option.
Following the painfully long install process, it looks like Ubuntu is working a lot better for me. I'm getting a weird rainbow splash load screen, but I can live with that for now. It also looks like wireless and audio came right up, and are working well. Not sure if I'm going to stick with it, but I'll probably mess around with it for a while.

Am I the only one who wishes Linux Mint (www.linuxmint.com) had a PPC port?
